Virakill FAQ's

To ensure Virakill’s effectiveness please follow instructions for use closely and ensure Virakill is always stored in a safe place away from children and pets.

Virakill is a multi-purpose surface sanitising spray that kills harmful bacteria within 30 seconds of application and continues to work up to 8 days after*. It eradicates all Coronaviruses, including SARS-Cov-2 (the virus that causes Covid-19), and other enveloped viruses. Virakill kills E.coli, MRSA and Salmonella.
Virakill is also environmentally friendly (water based and biodegradable).
*8 Day Protection – Only when used with the non-absorbent cloth and when directions for use are followed.

Virakill offers repelling protection. The polymers in the product repel microorganisms that want to land and colonise on that surface. So, Virakill creates a polymer protective layer that repels bacteria and viruses and stops them from multiplying on the surface.

Antibacterial products will only be effective on bacteria and viruses that are already on the surface that it is being used on. Virakill is effective on bacteria and viruses already on the surface AND offers residual protection from bacteria and viruses after application.
Virakill is also an effective cleaner as well as a sanitiser. This means that you do not need separate products for cleaning and sanitising.

Virakill eradicates all Coronaviruses, including SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes the respiratory illness Covid-19. Kills E.coli, MRSA and Salmonella. Virakill kills 99.99% of bacteria and viruses as certified under the European standards EN 1276 and EN 14476.

Virakill can be used in a range of locations. It is ideal for the home, the workplace (offices, shops, public areas) as well as on vehicles and tools.
It can be used on the following surfaces:
All hard surfaces including glazed ceramics, porcelain, chrome, plastic surfaces, walls, tiles, fixtures, toilet and surrounding areas, sinks, urinals, shower cubicles.
Soft surfaces – Carpets, soft furnishings, and upholstery.

Yes. Virakill contains no harsh chemicals. It is safe to be used on the skin. It can even be used as a hand sanitiser, without the drying effects of an alcohol-based sanitiser. Always ensure all cleaning products are kept in a safe place, away from children.

No. Virakill is a water-based solution.

While Virakill is safe on skin and can even be used as a hand sanitiser, we don’t recommend Virakill for use as a general surface spray in food preparation areas. This is because it is formulated to be used as a protective barrier. Virakill offers repelling protection. The polymers in the product repel microorganisms that want to land and colonise on that surface. Virakill creates a protective layer that repels bacteria and viruses and stops them from multiplying on the surface.
While Virakill can be used to clean and sanitise surfaces, including kitchen surfaces, you should not use Virakill on utensils such as cutlery or chopping boards

Yes. Many businesses are currently using Virakill in fogging machines to sanitise their workplaces.
We recommend setting the fogging machine to its most coarse setting in order to increase the spreading area. For further information on using Virakill in a fogging machine see our You Tube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsLf4QspGz4
Virakill can also be used in an electrostatic gun if necessary. These are usually used for paints and create a fine mist of whatever substance is used in them.

If Virakill is used to sanitise a surface and then another cleaning product such as bleach or another disinfectant is used on top of it, this will render Virakill ineffective. The other cleaning products will remove the protective layer left by Virakill. Virakill is both a sanitiser and a cleaner, so it can be used for both purposes. If you wish to sanitise a surface and then clean it straight after, use Virakill for both tasks.

8-Day protection will depend on when the surface, for example a desk, was last touched and how long it has been between sanitising.
Virakill’s effectiveness will decrease over time from 99.99% of bacteria and viruses killed. It is recommended that for high traffic areas, an appropriate cleaning regime is used. If using a hot desk, we would recommend sanitising every day or even when each person is using it. This ensures that the kill rate will continue to be 99.99%.
The area being cleaned, and workplace demands will determine how often a surface is sanitised. It is advised to sanitise daily in all sensitive areas, for example, care home communal areas or reception desks etc., in order to sustain maximum protection.

No. Virakill will kill bacteria and viruses already on the fabric but doesn’t provide lasting protection. 8-day lasting protection is for hard surfaces.

If Virakill is used on outdoor surfaces such as hand rails and door handles and left to dry, it will form a polymer layer. This layer will not be removed by rain as the layer is covalently bonded and can only be removed by abrasion such as hands etc…
